My maternal side of the family are genetic carriers of early onset alzheimers. My mother was tested about 2 yrs ago and the doctors are pretty certain she has it now. Well she is in a big denial stage and wants an MRI and there is a LSW telling her she doesnt have the disease although dozens of tests say she does. What I want to know is if she is in the first stage of this disease if any signs of it will show up on this MRI? Professionals only please or people who have had the same experience….

I can understand stopping someone from trying to kill themselves for something stupid like over an ex-gf/bf. but what if it was something like a killer has your friend’s family as a hostage, and the only way to save them is for your friend to kill themself or if the person had Alzheimers (a genetic disease that makes you forget everything [and i mean EVERYTHING. even how to breath] and that is uncurable) and they decided to kill themselves so they wouldn’t live a life of becoming a living veggie. would it be selfish to try to stop the person if one of the latter cases was the suicidal person’s situation?
and don’t give me anything about God deciding when you die either. i want to know if it is selfish to stop someone from commiting suicide, not if suicide is a sin. alright?
cae, what the f*ck are you talking about? you’re not making scense. how does this murderous manhunt go with my question of suicide? either make yourself clear, or don’t bother hoping for the 10 points.
actually, kit kat, you’re wrong. a hypothetical question is a question based on a hypothesis. i think the term you’re thinking of is “rhetorical”. i could be wrong about that, but as for “hypothetical”, i’m sure of. just check it out on dictionary.com if you don’t believe me.

Many people that have had to leave their home, or lost a mate, or are in extremely poor health etc. often are depressed. Are there people that go to help them work thru these difficulties in their life? For many years I worked as a nurse with the elderly. They often feel discarded. They ARE NOT WORTHLESS just because they can no longer perform. Too often people make them feel that way. If I knew how/had the training I’d want to be their advocate so they would know someone does care. My parents are unable to live on their own now due to alzheimers disease and heart problems and diabetes. It is so sad to see this happening. What will things be like when we, the younger generation get there?

I think the chances of success are higher for this than SETI, also more worthwhile. I fold for team 11108, MaximumPC. The stats can be found at this link. It adds a bid of a sense of accomplishment and gives a friendly competativeness to it.
