My father, 73 has been told he has alzheimers. Is there any other disease that has the same symptoms? I have seen a commercial on tv about it. What is the name ? I want to have him tested but I don’t know the name.

There are a number of other diseases that have similar presentation to Alzheimers but none of them are really any better.

I think you should be concentrating on getting your Dad the best caare possible rather than grasping for alternatives.

There are alot of dementias like Alzheimer’s disease. Pre senile dementia is probably the disorder you’ve heard of. Ask about the use of anti depressants with Alzheimer’s disease. Most people diagnosed with these disorders become depressed and are not treated for it.

Yes Alzheimer’s can also be Dementia. They are very similar to the way a person acts. But oddly Dementia is the starting stage of Alzheimer’s. Though if caught early many new advances in medicine that help people with both stages.
